I've recently started re-reading the original Steven Levy's "Hackers: Heroes of the Computer Revolution" book from 1984 and I like how the author paid homage to the pioneers with a dedicated "Who's Who" section. In my opinion, the past & current CFML platforms (Allaire Cold Fusion, Macromedia ColdFusion, Adobe ColdFusion, RAILO, BlueDragon, Lucee CFML and BoxLang) would never have become anything if it weren't for developers.

In preparation for the 2025 Adobe ColdFusion Summit, I realized that I've been developing in CFML since '97. CFML was released back in 1995 and just turned 30 years old. That's a long time to be committed to a single technology. It's an understatement to say that a lot has changed over the years, but it's also pretty amazing when you consider that legacy code written over 20 years ago can still run on today's modern CFML platforms.

Over the past 28 years in my career as a developer, I've either met developers in -person, came across something that they shared or was challenged by some of their feedback online. I wanted to take the time to thank them for their impact in my life and get to know them a little better.

I'm currently hosting an invite-only "Who's Who" survey on MyCFML.  Responses will be shared on the MyCFML.com website in the near future, but I've also made it so that some questions can be kept private and only shared between you and me. I haven't been blogging much in the past couple of weeks due to travel and the preparation of "CF_PB&J: Enhancing ColdFusion with Command Line Magic" presentation at the upcoming ColdFusion Summit. I hope to return to writing articles in Oct 2025.
